Can Taser products truly immobilize an enemy?

Taser is a one shot gadget designed to temporarily incapacitate a subject through utilization of an electrical current which briefly disrupts the body’s neuromuscular system. It can make use of "electro-muscular disruption (EMD)" technology. These devices use a powerful 50,000 volt electrical signal to totally override the central nervous system and instantly control all muscles. This EMD effect results in an uncontrollable contraction of the muscle tissue, allowing the Taser device to physically debilitate a target irrespective of pain tolerance or mental focus. These are specifically designed to stop even the most elite, hostile, and focused combatants. Rather than just interfering with communication amongst the brain and muscles, its EMD systems directly tell the muscles what to do, resulting in muscle spasms, until the target is in the fetal position on the floor. The TASER device offers optimum safety for both the user as well as the assailant by having dangerous conditions quickly under control before force escalates to lethal levels. There have been numerous reports that TASER devices disabled attackers and probably rescued the owner's life.
